Want to make an easy cake with the kids, while here it is, with a few twist. You can make this cake with any canned fruit, such as canned cherry pie filling. This is great topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple
1 can apple pie filling or 1 jar Cracker Barrel Fried Apples
1 box yellow cake mix
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, kept cold
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup coconut
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 9 x 13 pan. Spread layer of pineapple with juice in pan. Top with layer of apple pie filling. Sprinkle cake mix over apples. Use a hand held grater and take cold butter and grate the butter evenly over the cake mix.
Bake for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with pecans and top with coconut. Bake for 10 minutes more.
