Here’s a perfect recipe that takes all of 10 minutes to cook! Florida spiny lobsters are a delicacy and if they are fresh, hard to beat! Using just the tails, you can broil them at a high temperature and have them cooked perfectly, here are the steps:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 Lobster tails (cleaned, deveined and pulled out of shell)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 lemons (cut in wedges)
  • extra butter- melted (place in separate condiment holders) to serve along side the lobster tails when serving.
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat broiler to 400 degrees. With a sharp kitchen scissors or a knife, carefully cut the top of the lobster tail shell all the way back to the start of the tail. Pry the lobster meat gently from the sides of the shell and place it on top of the shell. Clean the lobster well in running water, remove any veins or intestines or dark meat. Slide 1 lemon wedge underneath the lobster meat to help the meat stay on top and give it flavor. Pat try and set them in a foil lined baking pan or dish.

Mix salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle the lobster meat with the spice mixture. Add 1 tablespoon butter (cut in half) on top of the lobster tail.

Place in oven on an upper middle rack. Let cook until meat is opaque and white, about 8-10 minutes.

Remove and serve immediately with drawn butter and a wedge of lemon. Optional: Chopped fresh parsley for garnish. Serves 4
